We Generation Privacy Policy

Personal information we collect

When you sign up for a We Generation account, we collect personal information from you including your name, e-mail address and information about your relationship with Free The Children (see this form for a full list of information we collect). We share this information with our partner organization, Me to We, but we don’t share it with any other business partners or organization. We use this information to make our website better, and to specifically tailor anything we e-mail you to your interests.

Non-personal information we collect

We collect non-personally identifiable information from you when you visit our site. This includes info like your IP address, what browser and operating system you use, what site you were on before you came to our site, what pages you look at on our site and what website you go to when you leave our site. We collect this information so we can establish demographics about our user base and make sure our site is serving people’s needs in the best way possible. We may share this information with our partners from time to time, but only for the purpose of making our website function better.

We also collect information from you through the use of “cookies.” Cookies let us remember if you have been to the site before, and they let us automatically set your preferences for the next time you return. Most web browser will let you disable cookies if you’re uncomfortable with this, but the site might not function as well for you if you turn them off.

When you vote in a poll we collect your response so we can calculate poll results. We don’t collect any personal information from you with your poll responses.

E-mail opt-in

When you sign up for our e-mail updates, we collect your name and contact information. We share this information with our partner organization, Me to We. We don’t share this information with any other business partners. Your e-mail address will only be used to send you e-mail updates about Free The Children and Me to We projects and events. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of one of our e-mails, or by e-mailing database@freethechildren.com. When you unsubscribe, your contact information stays in our database, but we won’t send you any more e-mails. If you would like to be removed from our database completely, please contact database@freethechildren.com.
