World Changers at Milwaukee Jewish Day School

Students and staff at Milwaukee Jewish Day School (MJDS) are showing the world they can truly make a difference! The school is fundraising for Adopt a Village and has already brought it $9,000 for a school in Kenya. Since taking on the project, these incredible youth have discovered new ways to put a creative twist on traditional forms of raising money and awareness. They did this by collecting items they were no longer using, such as iPods and textbooks, and then selling them on EBay. This accounted for about 35 percent of the money they raised, while the rest was generously donated by others.

An incredible educator by the name of Brian King brought Free The Children to MJDS. Brian heard Craig speak on November 2008 and knew he had to get his students involved. He presented them with the idea of starting an NGO in order to help underprivileged children around the world. The idea was a hit and students got involved right away. They learned about the issues and fundraised to make a real change! Not only are these students helping children by building a school, they are learning about social justice issues that are happening in Africa and Asia.

Congratulations Milwaukee Jewish Day School for truly being the change!
